About Us

The European Offender Employment Forum was established by a group of non-governmental organisations in the early 1980s in order to:
  • to promote links between employment and training providers
  • to lobby on issues regarding offender employment
  • to provide a central information source for policy makers and providers
An objective of EOEF is to attract as many members as possible from Justice and Employment Ministries, from private employers, service providers and the third sector.  EOEF has a database of contacts numbering more than 600 organizations working in this field from across the European Union.  Its income comes from a combination of subscriptions, the annual international EOEF event and project funding.
It is currently administered by The Centre for Economic and Social Inclusion, a UK NGO.

EOEF is currently coordinating a social experimentation project, evaluating mentoring.  It is called MOMIE (Models of Mentoring for Inclusion and Employment) and is financed by The Progress Programme. The UK Ministry of Justice supports it financially.

EOEF actively participates in the recently formed Ex Offender Community of Practice, a Grundtvig Programme administered by the Justice Department in Bremen, Germany.

Thanks to a generous grant from Working Links, EOEF has been able to refresh its infrastructure, take on new staff and commission this new website with the hope that over the coming years it will expand and be an increasingly useful information resource for the offender employment field.
