The EOEF event in Lisbon in March was pleased to host the the first public meeting of the newly formed Ex Offender Community of Practice.

The Ex offender Community of Practice (ExOCOP) has been funded by the European Commission for three years under the Gruntvig programme. The lead partner is Juergen Hillmer, Senate for Justice and Constitution, Bremen, Germany who will co-ordinate all programme activities.

ExOCOPbrings together all organisations (state, NGO’s and private companies) involved in working with offenders across the EU, including training and employment specialists but also all other aspects related to resettlement.

The aim of ExOCOP is to bring all partner together to:

  • Transfer Knowledge
  • Learn from each other
  • Identify and transfer good practice
  • Standardise and harmonise good practice
  • Further develop a European perspective on vocational resettlement and social integration of ex offenders

The next step is to organise a series of seminars for experts in a variety of different fields. Further information will be publichesd in this site as it becomes available.

The attached presentation offers a more more detailed presentation of ExOCOP made at the EOEF event in Lisbon in March this year.
